Ann Arbor, MI
Sean Carroll has been involved in youth ministry since he was 19, beginning as a mentor for youth in his home church in Baltimore, MD (when he wasn't away at Randolph-Macon College, either playing sports, or being glued to his courses in Religious Studies and Ethics).
Sean graduated in 2009 from Randolph-Macon College with a B.A. in Religious Studies and Ethics. He was inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa, the nation's Religious Studies and Theology honor society for his work and achievements in the field as a Junior and graduated with a 4.0 in his major. Even more, Sean was actively involved as a Small Group Leader for Intervarsity at Randolph-Macon where he met his future wife Sarah in 2008. Since 2008 Sean and Sarah have worked closely in ministry either here in the United States or abroad.
While studying abroad in Sean's senior year at Randolph-Macon, God called Sean to the ministry. He saw how churches with "nothing" worship God and wanted to take the message of discipleship back home, especially to students who are struggling with finding truth and a reason to follow Christ.
Sean has now been involved in youth ministry for 6 years, is enjoying settling into the Ann Arbor area, and is enjoying partnering with the church, parents and community to make a lasting difference in the lives of students . . . all for the glory of Christ. Sean's goal in ministry is to raise up students who are more than just "good" kids. He wants to challenge the next generation to be leaders in the church, and servants of Christ in all things. His approach to ministry is tied to the mentor relationship between Paul and Timothy, especially found in 1 Timothy 4:6-16, and Philippians 2:12-15. Sean wants to see students continue to spread the Gospel, and shine like stars among the world!
For fun, Sean and Sarah can be spotted exploring downtown Ann Arbor, attending art shows, and going to the movies. Other than that Sean enjoys football, especially Notre Dame Football, and the Baltimore Ravens. And together they love doing life with their church family (from dinners to coffee to eating take-out) and watching TV at home together.
